Headquartered in Indiana, PA, the company was founded in 1988 as a surveying firm and expanded in 2008 to include engineering and environmental design services. With increased project demand and additional growth opportunities, the company recently expanded to open an additional office in the Pittsburgh region. The new office is located in the historic Clark High School building in Carnegie.

Associates staff bring over 100 years of combined engineering and survey expertise
in the aviation industry, transportation, land development, erosion and
sedimentation planning and permitting, grading and drainage plan development,
and stormwater management planning and design.

Jennifer Sheesley indicated the office expansion in the Pittsburgh market has resulted in enhanced regional delivery and growth opportunities. As part of that expansion, Sheesley & Associates is pleased to announce the addition of Michael J. Len, P.E. to their team. Michael is the Director of Engineering and in this capacity, he is responsible for the operations of their Pittsburgh Office, providing project management, engineering representation and diverse civil engineering services to the firm’s regional clients. He has provided engineering services within the Land Development Industry for over 25 years and is a licensed engineer in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland and Ohio.
Michael’s experience includes site design,
stormwater management, soil erosion and sedimentation control, utility layout,
roadway design, environmental and municipal permitting, technical
specifications, and infrastructure engineering for the development of
subdivision and land development plans and construction documents. His project experience includes residential,
commercial/retail, educational, industrial, institutional and recreational
developments, as well as consulting engineering services for area
municipalities. He has had the privilege
to work on such projects as the Terminal Modernization Project at the
Pittsburgh International Airport, CONSOL Energy Center, Demolition of the Civic
Arena, Dick’s Sporting Goods Sportsplex at Graham Park, The Block at Northway,
Cranberry Woods Office Park and numerous projects for the University of
Pittsburgh and Penn State University.
The Carnegie office also is benefiting from their role as part of the program management team for the Pittsburgh International Airport modernization. Sheesley and her team are involved with permitting, design reviews, quality management, and negotiating and onboarding specialized contractors. A safety monitoring system and a construction camera monitoring process are being managed by Sheesley.
Throughout the years, Sheesley &
Associates has developed positive relationships with various environmental conservation
districts and the Pennsylvania DEP. Their
relationships and a thorough understanding of the permitting requirements
provides clients with a better experience throughout the permitting
process. Recently, through forward-thinking
and the use of technology, Sheesley & Associates was the first firm to
receive electronic permitting in Allegheny County.
